I bought this book thinking it was going to be a mostly sarcastic, humorous book. And can you blame me?

The title is Eat Chocolate Naked, and the first tip I read when skimming through the book was “Tattoo His Name On Your @$$”. Hardly what you’d expect from a book written to give real advice on sparking romance.

Book Nook: Austenland – Shannon Hale

When I first saw the movie Austenland, I wasn’t even aware that it was a book. It was just a fun movie that happened to have Keri Russell, and I wasn’t about to turn down the opportunity to see Keri Russell.

Years later, while looking through the book section of a local thrift store, I found a copy of the book. It seemed like perfect timing, since I had recently finished reading Pride and Prejudice for the first time a few weeks earlier.

I once heard somebody compare books written by Nicholas Sparks to fast food. They’re not that great, but sometimes they’re what you’re craving.

I feel that’s a pretty accurate comparison.

Sometimes you don’t want to put in a lot of effort. You don’t want to think a lot about what you’re reading. You just want a quick romance book and Nicholas Sparks is going to give it to you.
